Where I’m At Now: A Conversation in Art
The Where I’m At Now postcard cycles begin with each of the five artists creating five postcards based on a certain idea they are currently exploring in their home studios. Each artist keeps one card and mails one card to each of the other artists in the group. Generally each artist responds to all the cards as they receive them before sending them on to another artist, until all five artists have added visual information by adapting their mark-making to the compositional direction taken by previous artists. On occasion an artist may decide that an image is complete with only some of the artists’ interventions present. Individual card titles indicate the initials of the artists in the order the postcard travelled through the group.
